Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming service, has struck an exclusive distribution deal with Sony Entertainment Television (SET) for its reality series Rise and Fall. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration between a major streamer and a broadcast giant, daily episodes will stream free on Amazon MX Player at 12 PM and air on SET at 10:30 PM.
The move blends the scale of India’s largest free streaming platform with the reach of a top-rated broadcast network, aiming to capture audiences across metros, Tier 1, and Tier 2 markets.
Hosted by Ashneer Grover, Rise and Fall has quickly become a breakout hit. According to Ormax Media, it emerged as the most-watched show in its launch week. The format pits 15 celebrity contestants from television, sports, music, film, and digital entertainment against each other in a high-stakes game of power and survival. Contestants alternate between the luxury of the “Rulers’” penthouse and the stark basement of the “Workers,” with shifting roles testing ambition, leadership, and strategy.
