América new boy Saint-Maximin moves straight to top of Liga MX ranking
Allan Saint-Maximin has ignited a frenzy among Club América supporters – and with good reason. The club has made a bold statement by signing the French winger, instantly making him the most valuable player in Liga MX. Remarkably, Saint-Maximin claims that title without having played a single minute in Mexican soccer.
In a blockbuster deal reportedly worth around $30 million, América is betting big on Saint-Maximin for the Apertura 2025. The former Newcastle United star arrives with sky-high expectations, especially from a fanbase that’s been frustrated by recent results. Head coach André Jardine will be counting on the 28-year-old to inject life into the squad.
Saint-Maximin brings serious pedigree. He’s played for top clubs including Newcastle, Nice, Bastia and, most recently, Fenerbahçe, with his brightest moments coming in the Premier League. But it’s not just his résumé that’s turning heads – his market value is another reason fans are buzzing about what he could bring to Las Águilas.
Saint-Maximin: Liga MX’s most valuable player
According to Transfermarkt, Saint-Maximin is valued at €13 million, making him the most expensive player in Liga MX before even stepping on the pitch. His peak valuation came in September 2022, when he was worth €40 million during his time at Newcastle.
With that figure, he surpasses Ángel Correa, who previously held the top spot at €10 million, tied with Alexis Vega, currently enjoying a strong run with Toluca.
Saint-Maximin is expected to deliver on the field. He’ll undergo medical tests this Saturday at Coapa before being officially unveiled.
