Gabriel SS24 KTM – Afyonkarahisar, Turkey

The team attended our last GP for this season at Turkey for the final round of the EMX championship and round eighteen of the World Championship.
For the final EMX250 round, Max qualified twelfth in timed practice. He had two solid starts and rode a consistent race in both. He matched his results in both races with two eleventh place finishes.
In MX2, Oriol had seventeenth in timed practice and improved his start position to fourteenth in the qualifying race. In race one, he came just shy of a top ten result securing eleventh and for race two he finished fourteenth.
Oriol: “Done with my last season in MX2. I would like to have finished in a better way in Turkey but I did my best and finished 11th and 14th in the motos, Second moto I was running 11th but I touched another rider rear wheel and went down. Anyway, I was missing a bit of that intensity that I had in the middle of the season.
I want to thank my team for the effort they have given all season long, they were there in the good times but also when things weren’t that good, and I really appreciate that. Now it’s time to finish the British Championship on a high note!“
Max: “The weekend sadly I arrived sick at the last round. Was disappointed with this as I felt really good on the Wednesday practice. The first day, I tried to do my best but nothing we could do. A positive is I did lead the first two laps and had a holeshot so we can take that. From there I rode my own race. It wasn’t really the end of the EMX season I was hoping for but I’m still happy to be able to race with the fever I had. For now we look to the last round at Lyng to be healthy again and do our best and finish the season on a high.”
Team Manager Shaun Simpson: “Turkey was the final stop for us this season in the EMX250 and MX2 Championships.
The track was fast and difficult to pass but Oriol managed to make some good moves and show his fighting spirit in both motos, never giving up. 11-14 moto scores wasn’t what we were looking for but his pace was good and definitely looked more like himself out on track.
Max struggled again this weekend, as he was feeling slightly under the weather. His pace and fight wasn’t really there but managed to finish 11th overall. A holeshot and two laps led in moto one were the highlight of his weekend but unfortunately he couldn’t carry that pace on to the end of the moto.
We all look ahead to our final race of the season in two weeks for the British Championship in Lyng, Norfolk. Many Thanks to all our sponsors for their support and we hope to end the 2025 season on a high.”
