Liga MX confirms fans arrested after violent brawl erupts during Tigres-América match

Tigres’ tough defeat at the hands of Club América didn’t just sting—it sparked outrage among their loyal fanbase.
The fallout wasn’t limited to the scoreboard. Tensions boiled over into a heated altercation that escalated all the way to the top brass of Liga MX. Now, league officials are stepping in, and consequences are already unfolding.
In a statement posted to social media, Liga MX confirmed that two individuals were arrested and two others injured following a violent scuffle in the stands of “El Volcán,” Tigres’ home stadium in Monterrey.
More troubling footage began circulating on X, showing violent clashes outside the stadium after the match. In one particularly shocking video, a group of Tigres fans can be seen assaulting a Club América supporter, leaving him unconscious on the pavement.
The assault occurred near the main campus of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), specifically by the iconic “Flame” monument—a well-known local landmark.
Police are now working closely with Tigres club officials to identify those responsible for the attack. Investigators hope surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts will help bring the aggressors to justice.
